Some days feel like a sprint from sunrise to bedtime, minus the actual sprinting. Between emails, errands, and everyone needing something right now, movement can fall to the bottom of the list (or off it completely). And that’s okay.
The good news? Moving your body doesn’t have to mean dragging yourself to the gym or a class you dread. It can be playful, sneaky, and… dare I say… fun.
Here’s your permission slip to ditch the “all-or-nothing” mindset and add movement into your day with small, joyful moments that add up big-time. Let’s go!
1. Morning Stretch = Morning Magic
Let your body wake up before your phone does.
Before scrolling through your phone, before sipping your coffee, take a sacred 3 minutes just for you. Roll your shoulders, reach your arms up and say, “Thank you for this beautiful day!”
Bonus points if you open a window or step outside for a little sunshine on your skin.
2. Habit Stack Like a Boss
Add movement to something you already do, no extra time required!
- Squats while brushing your teeth
- A dance break while cooking dinner
- Calf raises while waiting for your coffee to brew
- Shoulder rolls during calls
These micro-moves are sneaky and add up over time. Think of it as your own secret wellness rebellion.
3. Turn Mundane Moments Into Mini-Moves
Because movement doesn’t need a playlist or a mat.
Waiting for your tea to steep? March in place.
On hold with customer service? Side-step in your kitchen.
Folding laundry? Lunge it out.
It’s not about intensity, it’s about intention.
4. Schedule a Soul Walk
Schedule movement on your calendar as if it matters, because it does.
Block out 10 minutes and call it your Soul Walk or something like that. Walk around the block, around your living room, or to your favourite tree. Breathe. Look around. Focus on the little things, because they are indeed the big things.
Walking clears your head, boosts creativity, and gets you closer to your step goal when you do it with presence.
5. Put Technology To Work
Your phone wants to help you, so let it.
Set reminders every hour to stretch, shake it out, or take a little break. A quick 2-minute move is all you need to re-energize. I call these move breaks, and they’re just as important as your coffee breaks.
6. Move With Your People
Movement + connection = magic.
Next time you make plans, swap the dinner reservation for a walk-and-talk. Or invite your bestie to stretch with you over FaceTime. Moving together turns “I should” into “that was fun!”
And yes, dancing in the living room with your kids 100% counts. So does laughing until your abs hurt.
7. Make Movement Feel Like You
Joyful, silly, prayerful, peaceful, whatever your flavor is, do that.
Put on your favourite song and dance in your kitchen.
Take your shoes off and walk barefoot in the grass.
Stretch with deep breaths and practice gratitude for the gift of your body.
You don’t need anyone’s routine but your own. Create a rhythm that feels like freedom.
Start with one joyful movement today. That’s it. One move toward energy. One step toward presence. One breath of grace. You’re not behind. You’re already showing up beautifully.

Here’s me, bouncing into better habits, one jump at a time.
This mini trampoline is my fav. It gives me a burst of energy and reminds me that movement can be playful.
It’s not about doing it all. It’s about doing what feels good and is true for you.
Until next time, friends. xx
Love this reminder that movement doesn’t have to be all or nothing. The idea of turning everyday moments into mini workouts is so doable—and honestly kind of fun. Definitely trying the “soul walk” this week!
This was really helpful!
